Purpose of the guideline: Appendicitis is a common acute abdomen in children, with severe complications such as perforation, necrosis and diffuse peritonitis occurring in a short time. It needs to be diagnosed and treated as soon as possible. However, there are no recommendations and guidelines for the management of appendicitis in children at home and abroad. By summarizing the existing high-quality clinical research evidence at home and abroad and combining with the clinical practice, we plan to develop a whole-process management guideline for pediatric appendicitis in China. The guideline will standardize the diagnosis and treatment process of pediatric appendicitis, provide a basis for decision-making, and ultimately achieve the purpose of reducing complications and improving the prognosis of children.
